Quy Nhon: Vietnam's Best-Kept Coastal Secret

Quy Nhon remains largely untouched by mass international tourism, offering long, clean city beaches, quiet fishing villages, and historical ruins from the ancient Champa Kingdom.

Pristine Beaches: Ky Co & Eo Gio

  • Ky Co Beach: Often called the Maldives of Vietnam, Ky Co features white sand and turquoise water. You can reach it via a scenic mountain road or by taking a speedboat tour from Nhon Ly village.
  • Eo Gio (Windy Pass): A dramatic coastal cliff walk offering views of rocky outcrops and crashing waves. Entrance is 25,000 VND.

Ancient Cham Towers

Binh Dinh province contains the highest concentration of Cham ruins in Vietnam. The two most accessible sites are:

  • Thap Doi (Twin Towers): Located right inside Quy Nhon city, these two unique brick towers date back to the 12th century, surrounded by coconut palms.
  • Banh It Towers: A collection of four brick towers perched on a hilltop outside the city, offering panoramic views of the countryside.

Cheap Seafood and Street Food

Quy Nhon's culinary scene is fantastic and cheap. Head to **Xuan Dieu Street** along the waterfront for fresh seafood cooked to order. Try **Banh Xeo Tom Nhay** (savoury pancakes topped with sweet, tiny freshwater shrimp) and local tuna eyes cooked in herbs.
