Getting There

The two main routes to Spiti are via Shimla-Kinnaur and via Manali. The Shimla route is open longer (May to November) while the Manali route is shorter but only open July to October.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Spiti Valley is from June to September when the roads are open and weather is pleasant. July and August are peak season with the best weather but maximum crowds.

Permits Required

Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for areas near the Tibet border. You can get this at the SDM office in Kaza or at Shimla/Manali before starting your journey.
