Betla National Park is a historic forest reserve situated in the Chota Nagpur Plateau in Latehar district, Jharkhand. It is famous as one of India's earliest national parks and was one of the first reserves selected for Project Tiger in 1973. The park features dense forests of sal and bamboo, rich wildlife including elephants, gaurs, and tigers, and the historic 16th-century ruins of the Chero Kings' Forts inside the jungle.
It is an offbeat wilderness destination for forest safaris, wildlife viewing, and exploring ancient jungle-choked ruins.
