Chabimura, also known as Devtamura, is an offbeat archaeological site located on the banks of the Gomati River in Gomati district of Tripura. Flanked by deep vertical rocky cliffs covered in dense tropical jungle, it is famous for its colossal 15th-to-16th-century rock-cut panels depicting Hindu deities, including the iconic 20-foot tall panel of Goddess Durga (Mahishasuramardini) carved directly onto the river cliff.
It is the Amazon of Northeast India, offering a thrilling boat cruise along a silent river flanked by jungle cliffs to spot ancient rock carvings.
