Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve is a pristine protected area in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu, spanning over 895 square kilometers of montane and lowland forests. Known for its rich biodiversity, it harbors endangered species including Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, and numerous endemic birds and plants. The reserve represents one of South India's most important conservation zones and offers adventurous trekkers a chance to experience untouched wilderness.
This is one of the least-visited tiger reserves in India, offering genuine wildlife encounters and pristine forest trekking away from crowds. The dramatic landscape of cascading waterfalls, misty peaks, and dense shola forests makes it a paradise for nature photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.
