Nimmu, also written Nimo or Nyemo, is a village in the Leh tehsil of Ladakh about 35 km from Leh, and the headquarters of its community development block. It lies on the road west of Leh close to where the Zanskar River joins the Indus, and it is the usual take-out for summer rafting trips that put in upstream at Chilling. The Nimmu–Padum–Darcha road being built to connect Zanskar year-round takes its name from the village.
Nimmu is the roadside gateway to the Zanskar gorge — the Zanskar meets the Indus right beside it, and rafting runs down from Chilling finish here.
